Reminds me of the Manhattan project where they were making the first nuke. They were guessing wild because they had little to no clue about how dangerous the radiation was. The scientists would walk up to the bomb sites clueless at the danger.
History made it out like they were geniuses lol. Nope.
. They were just starting to study the effects.
So with polio, they really didn't think it was dangerous pesticides like DDT...
This is off-topic, but I did not know where else to post my question. I have just found your blog, and am completely new to Germ theory scepticism, so please pardon my ignorance. But I want to learn about it. I am trying to get my head around my own personal experiences:
e.g. When I was a teenager, my brother came down with chickenpox. Exactly 2 weeks later I got it, and so it seemed "obvious" I "caught" it off him, because I only got it straight after he did, even though others at school had got it earlier. Similarly, I seem to always catch a cold only when someone else in the household has it, and then like clockwork I seem to "catch" it 2-3 days later.
Hence, it never even occurred to me that there could be some doubt about germ theory. Can someone please point me to some "Intro" to Germ theory scepticism for beginners, so I can understand how we actually get diseases like colds, if we are not "catching" them from someone else, and why it appears there is always a "coincidence" in terms how and when we get it only when someone else near to us gets it first. Thank you.
Wow, well done and so thorough. Excellent! I'm continually amazed at how absurd and pseudoscientific germ theory is!
Thank you!
Amazing work, thank you!
Thank you. What a tour de force of an exposition! Very well researched. This is the kind of work very much needed in medical science today.
